Course Description:
A study of computer hardware and networks used in the educational setting. Topics include hardware maintenance and upgrade, network wiring, topologies, planning, installation, and maintenance of computer networks. This course requires a summer one week campus residency.
Course Reflection:
This course was taken as part of the DDN-IT program offered by the state of South Dakota and was completed before I entered the MSET program at DSU. The course served as the foundation for my decision to eventually pursue getting my Master's Degree. At the time, I had begun teaching a class on computer hardware and networking as part of my duties at the Lake Preston School District. This course taught me what I needed to know in order to properly teach the hardware and networking class to my students. I also was in charge of some of the hardware and networking
