Looking back now on the academic paths and professional growth I've experienced through the MSET program, I feel that I made the right decision to get my Master's Degree through this program.  I had been looking into the program for a couple of years before I officially made the decision to apply. I finally made the decision that if I was ever going to pursue getting my Master's Degree that I needed to do it sooner rather than later.  Now that it is winding down, I am thankful that I made the decision that I did to get my Master's.

When I first started the MSET program, I was very anxious, yet very nervous. I was unsure on what to expect as it had been about 10 years since I last took an actual college class and this would be first first attempt at graduate level classes. Despite that, I was looking forward to expanding my knowledge base and learning some of the new ideas associated with technology in education.

About half way through the program, I was surprised how fast it was going and feeling a little overwhelmed.  It was hard to believe that in the span of a year that I was half way to my goal of finishing the MSET program.  When I started the program, my goal was to complete the entire program in six semesters.  At the half way point, I realized that I was on track to accomplish this goal.  This pace helped contribute to my sense of feeling a little overwhelmed.  In addition to taking the courses necessary to reach my goal of six semesters, I also had to deal with my teaching and coaching duties, my duties as a husband, and my soon to be expanding role of being a father as my family was expecting another son.

When I finally completed my last course project, I felt a sense of relief and excitement.  In a sense, it was a relief that I had made it through all of the courses necessary to complete the MSET program but I understood that I was not truly finished.  Now that I have finished all of the courses, I will have more time to take those ideas and concepts that I have learned in the program and fully apply them to the teaching of my students and other duties that I have as part of my job.  That aspect of life leads to my excitement.
